i'm a little late to reading this but happy (belated) lesbian visibility week!!! your point about not engaging in useless discourse is so spot on and i feel like the queer community as a whole would really benefit from internalizing that (as a bi person i will especially call out some bi women bc usually when i see (for lack of better term) "bi women vs lesbians" discourse online, it's usually just started by bi women making lesbianism about themselves somehow or generally not leaving lesbians alone). i think we really just need to prioritize 1) having each other's backs as a general queer community while 2) still recognizing that there are very specific cultural and social positions that we occupy as people with different queer identities. and, as you said, less pointless/harmful discourse!!! anyways sorry for the rambling comment, this post just scratched an itch. i hope you had a great lesbian visibility week!! :)
